A Brief Note On The Us Healthcare System - 901 Words
The U.S healthcare system is considered one of the most expensive in the world. Financing the U.S healthcare system can be put into payments made by the government, private groups of individuals, and the consumer. Single payer refers to a way of financing health care, which includes both the collection of money for health care and reimbursement of providers for healthcare costs. In the United States, there are multiple payers, not a single payer. Single payer does not specify a health care delivery mechanism; it specifies a health care financing mechanism. The system must provide health care for mostly all residents regardless of age, employment, income, or health status, even though there are some limited exceptions. If they are sick, the doctorââ¬â¢s next step would be to help them get better, and get back to work or to school . It is really up to that person if they want to accept the doctorââ¬â¢s assistance and follow the instructions on how they could get better and improve to get better soon. The structural- functionalism theory focuses on the functions and stability of the society, especially when it comes to people becoming sick and not feeling well. This takes them away from their responsibilities. Good health and the right medical care and attention are important for smooth functioning of our society. Coming from a conflict theory perspective sociological approach assumes that social behavior is best understood between different types of groups or portion of a resource connected to a particular recipient, such as resources, where you reside, how much money you have or earn, access to public services, and political representation. Viewed from this perspective, inequities exist in health care all over the United States. Majority people who are wealthier than others would get better healthcare treatment than those who are less fortunate in their area. People from poorer backgrounds are more likely to become sick rather than someone who isnââ¬â¢t from
